    Matt-
We have had two in the past 10 days!!! They are pushy and weird. They try to prey on your desire to help by saying they are with a highschool, which they are not or that you would be helping a charity, which you would not. It is a complete SCAM. Yesterday the girl even claimed to live in the neigborhood, went to the local highschool and said that her mom wanted her to apologize for bothering us! She was atleast 21, not a highschool student, for sure! I have heard the company brings them in a van and drops them off at the entrance to the neighborhood. We have had it going on for years. It is so annoying and yes, the girls stay outside but the guys try to get you to let them in! Scary! Makes you want to never answer your door.

Yes. Normally I’m excited about answering the door – but that creeped me out. On the other hand, it also makes me want to probe a little next time. Ya know? Try and fin out if everything is ok.

    Matt-
These folks used to always come to my apartment when I was in college. They cracked me up because they had the lamest one line junk pitches. I wonder where they get these folks. I remember saying to one, “Why do I care if you get to go on a trip?”

Well after reading that article linked above, I feel a bit sorry for these kids.

OH my goodness! I had no idea anything like this existed. (Which sort-of makes me feel like a bad person…) I haven’t ever had someone (other than the Girl Scouts) come to my door selling magazines… now I’m torn about what to do when I do have someone come… *sigh* It didn’t ever say how the kids get into the biz… how do they find out about it? Are there recruiters? I’m going to have to do more research.
