Lasix For Hamsters

Posted by Matt posted this at 8pm on 01/19/07 in the inner workings of our minds. (4 comments)

My car died on the way home from work tonight.  5 times actually.  In the end my extremely out of shape co-workers Lasix for hamsters, helped push me a block and a half back to the building  (that's right - I didn't make it very far).  It's occasions like these I'm very glad we're overworked.  Had we a nice cushy job, they would have all left for the day already.

The symptoms are very bizarre.  It never just died as if the battery were dead.  It would sort of just fade off - peacefully.  Any ideas?  I'm automotively ignorant, why is lasix used on horses. Lasix doses. Lasix low-dose.

    Matt-
It could be the alternator. Do you have a repair shop close by?

I was just going to say that it could be the alternator… how often do you drive it for 1/2 hour or more? My dad always tells me to take my car out on the open road for at least a 1/2 hour every few weeks to charge up the battery (since I’m usually only driving it a few miles at a time.) Also… Texas probably doesn’t have the special “winter formula” gasoline that we have up here… with all the cold weather, it could just be that your car isn’t using the gas efficiently. But… I don’t really know, I’m not a mechanic or anything…. Just thought you could use some girly 2 cents :)

@Dutch: God call. It was indeed the alternator. My mother-in-law exercised her AAA membership and had the Taurus towed 3.1 miles to the nearest firestone. 1 new battery, 1 new alternator, and $459.56 later it looks like I’m good to go. Very glad we have an emergency fund!!!

@shawnda: Thanks fo your prayers! They worked retrospectively. Normally I would’ve been steaming mad last night but, by God’s grace, I took everything in stride. Kristin was pretty worried at first, but we talked things through this morning and proceeded with confidence :)

@Susan: That’s great advice. The mechanic told me the exact same thing.
