Last week Jaimes and I found a morning dove making some cooing noises on a bedroom window ledge.  We crept really, really quietly from the sunroom window, were we had been watching her (or him but my gut says her) into the bedroom, raised the blinds very slowly and watched this bird walk back and forth on the window ledge.  It was amazing!  We probably spent a good 10 minutes watching her.  This is such a fun age because Jaimes asked all kinds of questions.  My favorite was “where are it’s ears?”  so, to find out this question we checked a ton of books out about birds.  Our Reading Rainbow video that’s coming is even “Birds of a feather”!  I didn’t plan it but love that we will have a good week of learning about birds!
