Yes – we have the decorative pillows that we take off the bed and put on the floor when we’re going to sleep. This morning we woke up to find said pillows completely covered in ants. Sick.
We quickly threw the pillows into the washing machine and Kristin proceeded to “vacruum” (as Jaimes calls it) up the remaining ants. They were coming into our room from the base board.
The washing machine began thumping pretty loudly. I opened the laundry closet to find it spouting water. It was too full. The floor was sopping wet. A few dead ants floated in a large puddle behind the washer.
Once I’d sopped up most of the water, I was running pretty late to work. Naturally, I couldn’t find my wallet. Either the ants carried it off or (more likely) Jaimes got ahold of it and repurposed it as some kind of crib/blanket/stroller for her babies – little pebbles she finds outside and takes home to call her own. It will no doubt turn up in her toy box or something.
Life is good.
Very funny!! The good thing about Jaimes having your wallet is that you cannot spend anything! Great savings plan.
Battling ants in your home is never fun. If they are still a problem try this, sprinkle dried mint or red pepper where they are entering the house.
I’ve had days like that. I call them weekdays.
That picture of Jaimes is cute from that last post. Great photography. Have the ants carried you guys completely away?
oh yeah, Matt and I had two days like that this weekend. Friday our toilet overflowed all over the kitchen floor. And Saturday, I spilled a whole bottle of red wine on the floor. Thinking it was not going to be redeemed, we googled how to get wine out of the floor and low and behold it came up, you can’t even tell it was even there.
